Green Tea, which is produced from the leaves of Camellia sinensis plant and belongs to family Theaceae, one most popular beverages worldwide. In This paper, phytochemistry, Pharmacology, toxicology green tea are reviewed systematically comprehensively. Key findings Tea has been demonstrated be good for human health. Nowadays, multiple pharmacologically active components have isolated identified tea, including polyphenols, alkaloids, amino acids, polysaccharides, volatile components. Recent studies that shows versatile pharmacological activities, such as antioxidant, anticancer, hypoglycemic, antibacterial, antiviral neuroprotective. Studies on toxic effects extract its main ingredients also raised concerns hepatotoxicity DNA damage. Additionally, polyphenols induce autophagy, thereby revitalizing overall health organism consuming it. was able activate autophagy in HL-60 Xenographs by increasing activity P13 kinase BECLIN-1. manuscript describes reported anti-photoaging, stress resistance, neuroprotective properties widely known functional foods-green tea.
